We're having a great start. All grades will start the year with some fun musical activities and also a pre-test to find out what we're great at already and what we need to work a little bit more on in the coming weeks.

Families with students in grades 3-5 can check out some information about the Liberty Chorus by clicking the chorus button.

Also, be sure to stop by and check out the music room!

Grades 3-5 are reviewing rhythmic and melodic elements learned in previous years by playing games, singing songs, and moving!

The following is a quote from former Secretary of Education, Margaret Spellings, clarifying the role of the arts in NCLB and their importance.

"They're an important part of a well-rounded, complete education for every student, with knowledge and skills that uniquely equip young persons for life", she noted. "What's more," she continued, "combining music, art, dance, and drama with subjects such as math, reading, and language can be highly effective, enhancing student engagement and increasing academic achievement."
