Week of Sept.14th Update

Reading - This week we have been learning strategies to monitor comprehension in reading groups.  The children have been learning four new strategies to help them when they read and the text does not make sense. 

Math - In math we have been learning strategies to solve addition problems.  The children have learned to play 2 new games to practice these skills. 

Writing - The children have been working on their first project in Writer's Workshop in which we are going through the writing process.

All About Me!

Welcome to first grade.  My name is Pam Riner.  I have been teaching in Frederick County Schools for 18 years.  I spent fourteen years at NewMidway/Woodsboro Elementary and the last four years here at Liberty Elementary in first grade. 

I graduated from Hood College and have my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and my Masters Equivalency through the Maryland State Department of Education.
